Requests by Cllr Struan Mackie reveals that only £385,000 of the £315million deal has been
earmarked for projects across Caithness and North Sutherland.
These findings will make sobering reading for Far North residents who have repeatedly questioned the success of the City and Region Deal across the Highlands. Although the Deal is still far from complete and there will be further opportunities to potentially seek funding, the initial tranche of projects show the concentration in projects in and around Inverness and great sparsity north of the Kessock Bridge.
"I would like to thank John O'Groat Journal for covering my findings this week which will act as my foundation to ensure that both Scottish Government and U.K Government are aware of concerns of myself and my constituents".
